Save Portsmouth's Seagrass
Save Portsmouth’s Seagrass is a campaign aiming to rally the local authorities to do something to help the dwindling seagrass population around Portsmouth. Since 1900, seagrass populations have fallen almost 92% in the Portsmouth area, however Portsmouth City Council and other local authorities have done nothing other than simply acknowledging it’s existence.

The aim of Save Portsmouth’s Seagrass is to raise awareness for this incredibly important local species and rally people to help bring seagrass into the light and make local authorities take seagrass seriously. The campaign that I have created would ideally be located at Farlington Marshes as this is a key location for seagrass in Portsmouth. I have created a series of 8 A1 signs that would be spread along the path to raise awareness for seagrass’ threats and benefits as well as linking people towards the petition I have created targeted against local authorities. To support these signs I have created a set of business cards for people to take away from the exhibition as well as a scale model of the marshes with sign markers to provide a reference of scale and some context to the project from an outside person’s perspective.
