Decomposition
In this project I explored decomposition through a multitude of perspectives. These range from physical decay and decomposition
of living matter to the breaking down of signs and signifiers within
one’s mind as a method of understanding the world around them.
I have created a series of 4 posters that break down decomposition
as a series and represent it in all aspects.
2025 - 2026
The new wave typographical style that I have used adds to this theme of decay when it physically breaks down the type away from the grid and traditional typesetting. The graphics have been taken from real scans of decomposing leaves at different stages, these are additionally represented by the colour going from a fresh green to a dark and decomposed brown, this also helps to solidify the order of these posters as a set of 4.The set of posters has been printed on GF Smith Transclear 150gsm to allow for each side of the poster graphics to shine through and create this unique tactile viewing experience. This is further enhanced when light shins from behind and really brings the colours to life, linking once again back to decay and how light is the driving force behind it all.
